Day One - Or Something

At the moment I have no internet connection but I want to write this while it is all fresh in my mind. Hello~~ text editor! I didn't really want to venture out to the ict area right now since I'm still getting used to the place. I arrived in Omaha on time, got my luggage okay and found the shuttle bus people. Then proceeded to be in that shuttle bus for two hours and twenty-odd minutes. Wow, what a journey. It was because there were other people who were obviously getting the shuttle bus too and I was the only person going to NWU. It is noteworthy for me to mention the cute asian couple who sat in front of me the whole time. I also, to help the journey pass better, decided to count any and all flying American flags I came across. This does not include paintings or cardboard flags - the real McCoy. 107 was my final count. God Bless America.

I should also mention the plane I got here was tiiiiiiny! 19 rows of three. Seriously. It was full however and the flight was only an hour and a bit. I sat beside a lovely asian girl who slept the whole time while I read my book.

Okay, back to NWU. So I got dropped at the curb and went to the Residential office and was like "Take pity on me cause I sure as hell don't know what my I-PAL looks like or anything." But I knew I was in the right place so ha! The woman there was nice and phoned Alex and he came straight away and helped me take my stuff up to my room. And then took me to get food. We went to this AMAZING place cause Raising Canes - WHICH IS ALL CHICKEN STRIPS -flails-. I love chicken strips (I was in Onew's idea of heaven haha). So me and Alex got to know each other a bit better. He drives a really nice sports car. I was surprised and then not surprised when I found out his dad is in pharmaceuticals.

So got dinner and today he's supposed to come pick me up so I can go get school supplies, a phone and hopefully get my internet sorted. As you all know me, there is only so long I can go without ze connection~ BUT YEAH I got settled in after he dropped me back at NWU. I was going to take a shower that night but got lazy and I was bored with nothing to do so I just went to bed at 9:30pm. Um, totally not jet lagged. See Mother, Father - staying up all those nights talking to Merry has only prepared me for this moment!! Be proud! … -super big grin-

Alex and I also chatted by anime and manga a lot. He laughed at my preference for Shojo and did like that I liked Bleach - woohoo. I told him about all the dvds I brought and I think I just turned into his personal blockbuster haha. I have a lot of dvds he hasn't seen and really wants to see!

I need to get school supplies, blue tac for sticking up my pictures (which I bought before I went and forgot to pack!!), try and get more plug adaptors. What Aaron gave me was useless and I'm working with one. OH! MY PHONE CHARM BROKE! I'm supermegafacesad about that since it was KAT-TUN and not the cheapest phone charm in the world ever. I'm debating replacing it or not. I have the crown, the puff and the KAT-TUN tag along with the clip on bit. I just lost all the silver balls! [oh haha I've lost my balls]. Listening to SHINee right now. THE WHOLE JOURNEY, I HAD SHINee WORLD STUCK IN MY HEAD - ARRGH! Even if I listened to something else, that was stuck in my head!

So plans today - hopefully get everything sorted. Well, when I say everything. I've managed to have my first successful wash in NWU. Since it's only 7:17am right now, I am going to watch a movie while it dries. I have no idea what time Alex is coming to get me at but I reckon it shouldn't be too early haha. I forgot to ask him last night. I'd told a few people before, my room is a single room so I don't have to share with anyone. It's not very remarkable but clean and has room for me to set out everything. When I arrived there was a drinking flask? I guess that's the right thing to call it and a brown bag filled with food for me to eat. I'd looked over the water flask and I'll fill it at some stage but right now I haven't touched the food. The chocolate I had bought in Dublin survived the trip but one of them was badly melted. I guess I'll just eat it first.

I do like my room. Straight across from me is the wash room so when I shower that's handy. It took me a moment to figure out how the shower worked this morning, oops. It's not a very straight forward one but I guess I can thank all those years spent in Benone for training me for these showers. I have my empty suitcases under my bed and clothes are all neatly placed away. I've been reading all morning and realised I forgot to pack my extra games for my DS including my Japanese Coach. I guess I'll be buying myself a new Pokemon game for my birthday. As soon as I get my mail box and get my internet I'll be on bay getting myself one of the newer ones. Oh well.

This morning I watched a little of Kami No Shizuku. I remember Merry telling me it was a slow moving drama with not much excitement unless you like wine. Ah well, I'm enjoying it so far and that's the main thing. Robert's hair is crazy~ and I really like Kame's character in this. That man always looks good in a suit. Right now I'm reading a little, kinda hungry and listening to Kanjani8. Just wondering when Alex will turn up…

Other things that happened: Saw two TA&M signs (flailed), saw a Meredith St. (flailed), saw a staples (flailed), saw a QuikTrip (flailed), so many fast-food places, saw football team practice, know every place on campus pretty much, going to a theme park place, have no hair dryer, Ash is in one piece! yay (was wondered he would get broken in my case TT___TT), need more pillows (srsly, one pillow - my neck hurts ;;), saw sororities and fraternities (Alex's girlfriend is in a sorority~~ they look amusing to me), people talk on their mobiles all the time while driving! People seem friendly, lots of corn (yay).

TL;DR: NEBRASKA LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE HOME, I SHOWERED AND SLEPT GOOD - GETTING PHONE / SCHOOL SUPPLIES & MAYBE INTERNET TODAY. ALEX IS SUPER NICE AND YAY NWU!! -cheers-

P.S Can't say I'm missing anything from back home much, just wish I was able to Skype and let them know I'm okay. By the time this is posted I'll (obviously) have internet and be able to talk to everyone!

P.p.s One of my RA's is called Lacey. I laughed soooo hard at this. Only one person will get this. There has to be a Tracey about somewhere...
